This website is written using XHTML and conforms to the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative at level AAA (the highest level).
Below is a selection of the guidelines we have complied with:
- Allow font sizes to be increased by the user (via the web browsing software, for example Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc).
- Provide text alternatives for all non-text content, eg images, tables and links.
- Ensure that all information conveyed with colour is also available without colour.
- Pages must be readable where style sheets (CSS) are disabled or are not supported by the web browser.
- Ensure that all information can be reached where JavaScript is disabled or is not supported by the web browser.
- Provide labels and default text for all form fields.
- Clearly identify the target of each link.
Please note that many of the advanced features of our site use JavaScript and CSS Style Sheets; though we have ensured that you can still access our content when these are disabled, the quality of your experience will be considerably lower.
We strongly reommend that you enable these features of your web browser when using our site.

As a charity we only have limited funds for developing our web resources, but we have aimed to make our website as accessible as possible. This includes:
Text
Text can be scaled by changing the browser settings or by using your mouse wheel.
Verdana and Arial is used throughout for body text as it is easier to read onscreen.
Our text content is clear, concise and accessible to all.
Images
Rollover descriptions for content images (ALT tags), and also for links (TITLE tags) wherever possible.
The use of Flash and frames is minimised on our website as it can cause problems for screen readers and special browsers.
Text alternatives available for text presented as graphics.
Navigation
Hyperlinks are clearly indicated and descriptive.
Navigation is consistent and logical throughout the site, to help you access the information you need as swiftly as possible.
Windows Users
Internet Explorer 7
For the first time in Internet Explorer a zoom feature is included which allows you to enlarge the whole browser window.
to do this press ' Ctrl ' + ' + ' to increase the zoom and ' Ctrl ' + ' - ' to decrease the zoom.
You can also change the text size. The way to do this does depend on how the site has been built.
For many sites you only need to do the following:
- Open the ' Page ' menu with the mouse or by pressing ' Alt'+'P ' .
- Select the ' Text Size ' option with the mouse or by pressing ' X '.
- Choose your preferred text size by clicking on it or by using the up and down arrow keys to select it and then press ' Enter ' .
Internet Explorer 6
Open the ' View ' menu with the mouse or by pressing ' Alt'+'V ' .
Select the ' Text Size ' option with the mouse or by pressing ' X ' .
Choose your preferred text size with the mouse or by using the up and down arrow keys and pressing ' Enter ' or by clicking on it.
The text on our website should now have changed to reflect your choice.
Firefox 1.5 / 2
Follow these steps to increase or decrease the size of the text for the web page you are viewing:
- Open the ' View ' menu with the mouse or by press ' Alt ' and ' V ' at the same time.
- Select the ' Text Size ' option with the mouse or by pressing 'Z' .
- Increase or decrease the text size with the mouse or by using the up and down arrow keys and pressing ' Enter '.
- Alternatively you can press ' Ctrl ' and ' + ' to increase the text size, ' Ctrl ' and ' - ' to decrease the text size. ' Ctrl ' and ' 0 ' returns you to the default 'normal' size.
Opera 8 / 9
Opera can increase the size of images as well as text.
You can quickly increase or decrease the size of both text and graphics using the Keyboard
Press ' + ' (in some versions you might need to press the ' Shift ' key as well) to increase size and the ' - ' to decrease text size. Each press will increase or decrease the size by 10%. Alternatively press 'Alt ' + ' V ' to bring up the view menu and then press ' Z ' to bring up the zoom options then use the up and down arrow keys to select the option you want followed by 'Enter' .
However the changes will not be remembered next time you open Opera.

Follow these steps to increase or decrease the size of the text for the web page you are viewing:
- Click on the ' View ' menu with the mouse.
- Click on ' Make Text Bigger' or Make Text Smaller to change the font size as shown in Fig 1.
Or to to use keyboard shortcuts:
- Increase or decrease the text size with ' Apple ' and ' + ' (plus) and ' Apple ' and ' - ' (minus).
Internet Explorer OSX
Follow these steps to increase or decrease the size of the text for the web page you are viewing:
- Click on the ' View ' menu with the mouse.
- Hover your mouse over ' Text Zoom ' and choose a different text size from the listed options.

- Increase or decrease the text size with ' Apple ' and ' + ' (plus) and ' Apple ' and ' - ' (minus).

- Click on ' Increase ' or ' Decrease' to change the text size or press the right arrow to expand the ' Text Size' menu options and use the up and down arrow to select ' Increase ' or ' Decrease' and then press ' Enter '.
- Alternatively you can press ' Ctrl ' + ' + ' (plus) to increase the text size, ' Ctrl ' + ' - ' (minus) to decrease the text size. ' Ctrl ' + ' 0 ' returns you to the default size.
Opera 8 / 9
In Opera you can increase the size of images as well as text.
You can quickly increase or decrease the size of both text and graphics using the Keyboard
